BEKA Cookware
BEKA is a manufacturer of high quality cooking utensils, characterised by perfectly studied design and ease of use. The care given to detail reflects the importance that their customers grant to the art of cooking and the preparation of meals.
Beka Cookware was awarded Gold in the category Design/Lay-out at the 2008 European CMS Awards.
Objectives
The primary objective of this website was to develop an online catalogue aimed at 3 different target groups: BEKA's sales force, BEKA's resellers and of course customers/cooking afficionado’s. It was not meant to communicate prices, nor was it the ambition to sell the products online.
Results
- This website is more than just a sterile product catalogue, it appeals to the cooking experience itself and reflects a feel good ambiance, thanks to the high quality product and recipe photo's.
- By using JavaScript effects, the product detail pages for instance, stay easy to read and well balanced, in spite of the vast amount of technical details, tips&tricks, recipes, etc...
- By means of valid XHTML/CSS content and design elements are separated thus being also pretty lightweight and easy accessible for Google and other search engines.
